The Seed Comparison Update: Side-by-Side World Analysis!
Comparing two Minecraft seeds used to mean opening several browser tabs and keeping track of coordinates by hand. The comparison view puts those details next to each other.
Not anymore! Today, we are excited to roll out the Seed Comparison Tool on MCSeedShare!
You can now compare up to five seeds side by side, whether you are choosing a speedrun start, a mining world, or an unusual biome combination.
Pick Seeds as You Explore
Starting today, you will notice a brand-new Compare button on seed cards and seed details pages across the site. Clicking it adds the seed directly to your active comparison list.
A sleek floating Comparison Bar will pop up at the bottom of your screen, keeping track of your selected worlds while you browse. When you're ready, hit Compare to view your side-by-side breakdown.
Side-by-Side Analytics Breakdown
On the dedicated Compare page, your chosen seeds are displayed in a clean, multi-column format. We crunch the numbers using our cubiomes engine and analytical scoring algorithms to present a direct comparison of key metrics:
- Rarity & Scarcity Tier: Compare overall rarity scores and tiers (Diamond, Emerald, Gold, or Standard) based on structure proximity and biome biodiversity.
- Speedrun Readiness: Compare Nether structure accessibility (Fortresses, Bastions), Stronghold distance, and speedrun readiness scores.
- Settler's Badge: Evaluate early-game survival friendliness, starting biome food availability, and building terrain scores.
- Resource HUD: Compare starting access to Diamonds, Iron, Ancient Debris, and timber resources.
Biome Distribution Comparison
Want to know which seed offers the best variety of biomes around spawn? Our interactive Biome Distribution Chart lines up the biome percentages side-by-side.
At a glance, you can immediately spot which seed has more lush forests, vast oceans, or rare badlands near your starting coordinates.
Category Wins & The Overall Winner Crown
To make decision-making even easier, our system automatically compares every metric index between your chosen seeds:
- Category Wins: Each seed earns a win counter for every metric where it outperforms the competition.
- Overall Winner Crown: The seed with the most category wins earns an exclusive golden Overall Winner crown badge!
